Privacy Policy
Wazo is a privacy-first platform that allows you to record your thoughts anonymously and securely. We operate a zero-knowledge system: your User ID is tied to a Recovery Phrase Key, which is the only way to access your wall across devices. We do not store your raw messages, and we cannot access them.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Message content: Wazo does not store or access the content of your thoughts.
- Contact lists: We do not require phone numbers or emails.
- Identifying information: We do not track IP addresses or physical locations.
Information We Collect (Minimal)
- Device hash: A hashed identifier used to detect multiple devices linked to a user.
- Metadata: Includes account creation time, message timestamps, message size (no content).
Use of Information
- Authenticate users across devices using the Recovery Phrase Key.
- Prevent abuse using device and usage metadata.
- Respond to voluntary abuse reports submitted by users.
User-Controlled Reporting
Users may voluntarily submit specific messages for review if they encounter illegal or threatening content. Wazo does not automatically access message content.
Data Retention
- Recovery Phrase Key hash and minimal metadata are retained as long as the account exists.
- No message content is retained.
Legal Requests
Wazo may respond to valid court orders but can only disclose data we actually have (e.g., metadata, device hash).
Security
- End-to-end encryption ensures that only users with the Recovery Phrase Key can access messages.
- No plaintext data is stored on servers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Users will be notified of significant changes via the platform.
